Happy New Year, everyone. Happy New Year.
I went across the bright fields this morning, down to the rushing creek, along the sleeping banks, and up to the ridge. The breeze blew from the blue, and the mountains showed in the clear west. Pulling out a notebook, I jotted a few more ideas down. Rising, my feet took me through fallen oak leaves, a dirt path, more leaves and across the headwaters of the small stream that tumbles down the side of Long Mountain. I sat in the quiet.
Then I turned around, heading back out into the wind, down through the woods and fields back home, to write and type and plan. Then I went to the gym.
It seemed busy, but mostly regulars, along with a few folks getting a jump on their new promises. The music blasted and everyone sweated.
“Happy New Year”.
“Yeah man, Happy New Year.”
What a gift. 2025.
Oh, I’ve got plans and formats and ideas to discuss with you. We’ll get into that soon. Maybe.
But for now…
Happy New Year.
Let’s make it a good one.
See you soon!

The first sun of the year heads west, past the Shortleaf pine by the driveway.
Happy New Year to You, Josh!!
