“Smokey Bear lives within us all. We need you to prevent wildfires.”
Sounds like conflict avoidance to me. Sounds like Government Propaganda.
Sounds like Big Brother is telling us to hold on to the dead wood, and never let go, until the fire burns so hot, everything turns to ash.
Sounds like the years of clinging and grasping might end up like California.
(A raging inferno where everything is lost.)
If only I can prevent wildfires…
Is it a two way street? A hidden metaphor of personal power?
It’s got me thinking.
(Also, the controlled burn at the farm was a great success, and the forest should be all the better for it. A small, cool fire resets dynamics and maintains balance, the way nature has been existing for millions of years. But don’t try it at home. Duh. Big thanks to the Forestry Department, and Lynchburg FD.)

You are fortunate that the local authorities where you live understand the value of controlled burns. So many wooded areas are now a tangled mess of invasive plants choking native species or cluttered with dead fall, so present a real danger for out of controlled fires which will destroy property and life.
