Glad the crows are letting you, as the recent arrival, know it is their yard because they were there first. A little before 6:00 AM this morning, near your old house, two robins were busy chasing a crow. I had to wonder if the crow had been raiding the robin's nest, prompting the pursuit. Lots of bunnies this year, both large and small, some timid and others perhaps foolishly unaware of the approaching human or their proximity to a road. The scent of black and white kitty (not the herbal kind) filled the air the past two mornings., so somebody must be making rounds before the sun comes up. Unfortunately, the deer flies have returned in number, so make running miserable.

Yes indeed! Those ol' crows sure have swagger. The hawk was sitting on a branch this morning, screaming his head off at them, useless. Reminds me of Twitter. Hate them deer flies. A bee chased me away from the hives the other day, much to the delight of any watching neighbor.

Luna moth a couple mornings in a row at your old place, second sighting it flew in front of me before sunrise and at first thought it was a bat.. Also a brown thrasher in your old yard and one a few houses away. The thrashers must be feeding a family like many others this time of year. Toads seem to be playing a game of chicken in the road, running in the dark requires a flashlight to avoid stepping on them, but cars take care of what I miss. Lots of animals to see if you take time to look. You have more guts than me to be venturing near an active hive. Keep enjoying the mountains and telling it all like it is.

Love those big moths! Haven't noticed any on the mountain, but I'll go looking. Must have been huge! And THANKS for the encouragement. You got it!
